The next day Ziya just put on her under robe and arm cuffs. She didn't bother to but on the thick heavy parka she normally wore because today was her assessment to advanced waterbending! On the way to the sparring circle she went through all the moves she had learned in her head. The sun was just glimmering over the horizon as she made her way over but when she reached the class spot no one was there. Not even Master Aroon, and he was never late! Then as she stood there waiting, she felt a sudden blast of heat behind her. Ziya quickly ducked out of the way just as a fireball flew over her head. She turned around to she Abhaya with a fire resting in the palm of her hand. "What are you doing? You could have-" Ziya stopped mid sentence as Abhaya raced at her with a jump and a kick. A massive wave of red hot fire flew at Ziya so fast, that if Ziya had blinked she would have missed it all together. Ziya rode a wave of ice just in time as the fire wave melted the ice behind her. "So the mighty Ziya won't even stand a fight? This is going to be easy!" Abhaya then made a fire orb around her and shot fire missiles constantly at Ziya. Ziya shot water at each missile flinging them into the ocean. She then made an ice shield and crouched behind it as Abhaya shot a constant stream of fire out of her foot. Ziya quickly melted some ice, took a deep breath in, then exhaled and steam shot everywhere clouding everything around her. "You can't hide forever!" Abhaya said and Ziya saw some fire moving away from her as Abhaya searched for her on her fire rockets. Ziya was relieved for the moment and started to back away from her hiding spot. Right as she turned around she saw Abhaya towering above her in the steam. "Why are you doing this?!?" Ziya cried. "To teach an ignorant water girl a lesson!" Abhaya replied with a grin. At first Ziya was confused at what Abhaya was doing. She was circling her hands with two fingers out on each. Then it hit Ziya like, well, lighting. She's going to shoot lighting, Ziya thought. She frantically thought of what to do. Then she realized that Abhaya wasn't used to this watery terrain. She then propelled herself on a tower of ice into the ocean and waited for Abhaya to follow. As Ziya waited inside her bubble of air she saw a dark figure fly over her on top of the water. Just as Ziya thought that she had lost Abhaya a sudden blast of lightening shot right beside her in the dark water. Time to go, Ziya thought. She shot the water behind her until she reached the surface. "Abhaya," she said when she saw her hovering with fire underneath her feet, "Why are you doing this? I thought we were becoming friend!" "Well you thought wrong! I thought that maybe you would put up a fight, but I guess I was wrong! I personally don't think female waterbenders should exists in the world!" She said as she raised her hand and sliced a thin sheet of fire right over the surface of the water. Ziya was furious now! She had to prove that she could be a master waterbender and still be a girl! Ziya raised the water around her and started to turn it all around her until she was high in the air riding her water pillar. Then Ziya flew though the air as she jumped off of it and headed strait towards Abhaya. She had a water shield in front of her and so did Abhaya only with fire. Just as they collided there was an explosion and both of them flew away. Abhaya shot out of Ziya's view towards the water tribe city while Ziya flew farther away into the northern ocean. She stopped herself with an ice bank and rode it all the way back to the city. Abhaya was there ready, and waiting. Ziya shot an array of icicles at Abhaya. One hooked Abhaya on the sleeve and sent her to the ground but she just melted it with some fire on her finger tip. She then proceeded to send what seemed like millions of fire blast all at once at Ziya. Ziya tried to stop them but it was too much. She flew back and hit an icy wall with a sickening thud. Ziya got up and sent blast of ice at Abhaya. The blocking and shooting of the two elements went on for what seemed like a life time, but went by in probably a matter of seconds. Then as the two benders drew near, Ziya bended some water and froze Abhaya's arm. Abhaya sent a heat wave and melted the ice but Ziya met her hand half way. The two circled each other, tension crackling like fireworks in the air as their arms were linked. Then at once they both took a ball of their element and just about closed in on each other when a loud shout sounded across the clearing. "STOP!!!" The voice cried. Then Master Aroon shot over to the two of them on a wave of water. "Than you Abhaya, your work here is done. You may go wash up for dinner." He said casually. "Okay, bye." Abhaya said nonchalantly. As Abhaya walked away Ziya turned to Master Aroon and screamed, "Are you crazy? Your letting her go? She might kill someone! She almost killed me!" Ziya stopped with heavy breathing. "Ziya listen, Abhaya doesn't hate you and she didn't want to attack you. I told her to." Ziya stood with her mouth open. "But-But why? I don't understand." Ziya said confused. "Ziya, that was your assessment, to fight Abhaya. I came to her early this morning and told her to fight you, and I have never been so pleased with a student before. You are now in the advanced level. Congratulations." he finished and walked away. Ziya stood there with a confused look on her face. "Uh thank you?" she murmured. This was not how she expect her day to turn out at all. Her master had sent a firebending master to go fight her but Ziya was happy. She had made it to advanced waterbending and gotten to get a frightened look on Abhaya's face. The day had taken a turn for the better. Just as the sun was setting Ziya ran home to tell her parents the good news.
