1) Can I write up a very, very long character history/flashback/back story and post it?
- Though I know how tempting it is to write these things up and share them with everyone, I would try to refrain from doing so. You can keep a kind of character journal that documents your adventures on the board and post it here. Also, don’t post something that’s entirely flashback, if a flashback is necessary show only what you have to and move on. Your very long back story can go in your application, or under fanfiction in the board for fiction related to the game.
2) How do I post a flashback in a post?
- A flashback should be written in italics, with words you would’ve italicized in normal slant. It should really only be done if it’s totally relevant to what’s going on, as were Zuko and Iroh’s flash backs in The Storm, and as were Aang's few flashbacks in The Southern Air Temple. Generally speaking, keep it to a minimum.
3) Can I draw fanart of mine and other peoples characters and post them in the fanart and fan fiction board?
- Yes. But make sure you have permission to do so with other people’s characters. (Though with art, most people are easy to persuade.)
4) Can I write fanfiction about mine and other people’s characters and post them in the fan art and fan fiction board?
- Yes, but again, only with that person’s permission. It’s not something I would recommend doing unless you really, really know the player and their character well. However, with your own character, go for it. This is how I would like long and involved back stories handled.
5) What do I do if another player starts controlling my character’s actions?
- Report it. This is called god-modding, and will not be tolerated.
6) What do I do if another character constantly plays it so that they never get hurt/wounded/touched by my attacks?
- Report it. This is called Power Playing, and it will not be tolerated.
7) What are NPCs?
- NPCs, or non-player characters, are characters that aren’t controlled by any one player. For the most part, any player may take control of an NPC (within reason) without having to worry about god moding.
8) What NPCs are alright to share between characters?
- NPCs that are okay to share between players/characters include shop keepers, town guards and any other background face that you might see in a town or village.
9) What type of NPCs are not okay to share between players?
- Things like a PCs little sister (created by that player), an NPC so high up that he/she is controlled by the mods (Like a very powerful priest in the earth bending temple or the Fire Sages) can not be controlled unless you have the permission to do so.
10) Will story characters get more action with the ongoing plot of the board?
- Only at the very beginning, and only because story characters are normally the first to go. We won’t have a very concrete plot, so as long as everyone plays, you’ll get to be part of the ongoing storyline.
