Haru - This young man is an Earth Bender in an unnamed mining town. He and his father Tyro escaped the Fire Bender prison ship and are now helping in the fight against the fire nation.
Fire Lord Ozai - The Fire Lord is 'not the compassionate type' according to his brother, Iroh. Lord Ozai's goals are a total and under domination of the world and he doesn't even know how to show mercy to his only son.
Azula - Azula, also called Zula is Zuko's younger sister. She can be seen running with her brother in flashbacks, and smiling at him getting his butt kicked when fighting their father in another. Though not much has been revealed about her, it has been said that she is cold and ambitious and has designs on the throne. The fact that her brother is still alive is most likely a thorn in her side.
Jeong Jeong - Also called 'The Deserter' Jeong Jeong is famous for being the first person to leave the Fire Nation's army and not be executed for desertion. He is said to be enlightened and lives 'like a savage' in the wilderness. He is very wise and considers his gift of fire bending a 'burning curse'.
Master Pakku - Master Pakku is the water bending master at the North Pole, it is he who teaches others. He is very tradition minded and set in his ways. When he was younger, he made a necklace for a young woman named Kana, who ran away before they were to be married. He refuses to teach women.
Princess Yue - Yue is the young princess of the Northern Water Tribe. She just recently turned sixteen and is already being forced into an arranged marriage that she doesn't want.
Chief Arnook - Arnook is the leader of the Northern Water tribe. His only child is Princess Yue. He holds council in the village square where Master Pakku sits at his side.
King Bumi - Bumi is at least 109 years old. He rules the city of Omashu and is a few sandwiches short of a picnic. He is also very wise and was a good friend of Aang when he was a child.
Suki - Suki is a warrior from the island of Kyoshi. Though it is never said for sure, she seems to be in charge.
Mechanist and Teo - These two live in what's left of the Northern Air Temple. They have remolded it. Teo is paralyzed from the waist down, and his father has been building weapons for the fire nation.
Aunt Wu - This fortune teller lives in Mt. Mahaku village. She gets a lot of business and the villagers swear by her foretelling. One so much so that he hasn't bathed in months.
Meng - Meng is Aunt Wu's assistant. It's her job to great Aunt Wu's guests and get them drinks and food. She thinks Katara is a floozy.
Gran-gran - Gran-gran, also known as Kana, is the oldest living member of the Southern Water Tribe, though she wasn't born there. Born in the Northern Tribe, she left without a word shortly after her betrothal to Pakku. She came to live in the Southern tribe where she gave birth to Sokka and Katara’s father.
