The Earth Kingdom
The Earth Kingdom is by far the largest of the four lands, but it is also not as unified as the Fire Kingdom. It could be argued that the Earth Kingdom is the one true military threat to the Fire Nation.
The Earth Kingdom covers many cultures, features the largest canyon in the world, The Great Divide, and boasts the only city to survive a Fire Nation siege of six hundred days, the capital of Ba Sing Se. Despite being very culturally diverse, citizens of the Earth Kingdom have an undeniable sense of pride.
This pride motivates them, and lets them continue to fight in the face of sometimes undeniable odds. Families and Clans tend to be extremely loyal to their own and in situation where there are clanless children; they even tend to band together creating their own clans of sorts.
The choice mounts of the Earth Kingdom are large birds. (Think Chocobos if you’re a final fantasy fan.) The Earth Kingdom is still fighting the Fire Nation and is in a series of battles where some it loses and some it wins. Quite a few Earth Kingdom cities are under the control of the Fire Nation, and as such, are subject to the laws and regulations of The Fire Nation.
The Earth Kingdom fights with a combination of guerrilla tactics and grand armies in hopes of freeing themselves from the Fire Nation. It should be noted that Earth Benders living in occupied territory run the chance of being arrested and detained.
Over all, the Earth Kingdom embodies tradition, pride and fierce loyalty. They are currently being helped in their fight by warriors from the Southern Water Tribe.
